Voluntary Action Blaby District was launched on the 1st April 2007 from the amalgamation of Volunteer Centre Blaby District with Blaby CVS (Council for Voluntary Service).
Voluntary Action Blaby District provides a focus for volunteering activity throughout the District. We support the start-up and development of voluntary and community activities and we endeavour to influence public policy relating to the voluntary sector.
Voluntary Action Blaby District aims to form strong relationships with local individuals, voluntary and community groups, neighbourhoods and communities with the intention of improving the quality of life for the people of Blaby District.
Voluntary Action Blaby District works in partnership with statutory agencies in the spheres of local government, health and wellbeing, policing and community safety. Staff regularly attend partnership meetings, sometimes linking directly to the services we provide ourselves and at other times as a voice for the whole sector.
Voluntary Action Blaby District has a wide representative role, however we also encourage all interested organisations from the sector to use their own experience for the benefit of everyone.
Voluntary Action Blaby District is committed with our partners to both Leicestershire Together and Blaby District Together, the local strategic partnership for the area, taking the lead on the Stronger Communities theme.
